TE-2006-0415 | MediaCom Communications (MCC) Telephone Application for Waiver of PSC Quality of Service Rules |
On April 25, 2006, MCC Telephony filed an application with the Commission requesting a waiver of compliance with the requirements of the Commission's quality of service rules related to time standards for installation of service.
On April 28, 2006, OPC filed an objection to MCC's application, and on May 1, 2006 the Missouri Independent Telephone Company Group filed an application to intervene in opposition to the waiver.
On July 11, 2006, the Commission's Staff filed a recommendation that the Commission delay action on MCC’s request and open a case to consider whether to make revisions to the quality of service rules applicable to all telecommunications companies in lieu of considering a waiver solely for MCC. Alternatively, if the Commission chooses not to delay the MCC case, then Staff recommends denying MCC’s request because MCC has not demonstrated good cause for waiver.
On July 14, 2006, the Commission issued an order setting July 28, 2006 as the deadline for any party to request a hearing. If no party requests a hearing, then the Commission will make its decision based on the verified pleadings.
